That would be one ugly spray angle on those. The duty cycle would be over 100.

Wow thats a more than slightly impressive car!! I imagine you must struggle to see the road with the g-force of acceleration! I believe I'v read about / seen pictures of your car before. Well if thats whithin the limits of my injectors I will definately stick with the 55lb/hr which will hopfully avoid the low efficiency most Jap tuning rice racers suffer with poor atomisation from their 82lb/hr injectors!

Thanks for replying to my posts. Everyone.

Thanks for the correction John (Fast951); apparently it is possible to exceed 400 rwhp with the stock DME and a MAF/piggy-back set-up. I never realised it, I guess. I am very surprised that 55 lb injectors would safely support that kind of horsepower, though. John, don't you normally recommend 72 lb injectors with your Stage IV turbo kit? Do you have any of the tuning rpoblems that Ben is referring to with the larger injectors?

For engines making 400+, I like to use the 72# and now I'm going to 82#. When using the Motronic in Batch mode (standard) , it's tough to get clean idle with large injectors.. We will be releasing new software that takes care of this problem by running semi-batch at idle...

As far as the tuning problems, would you be more specific.

The only tuning problem that I am aware of is poor or rough idle due to the large injectors and resultant low duty cycle. You have already addressed this. Thanks for the info!

I have 82lb injectors and it dles at 700-750 at Stoich. Low timing values help stop rough idles.

No you don't, on the contrary actually.

I agree.

I did a 13.244@107 with 2.127s 60 foot. This was in my third run ever.
I'm not sure about my hp but I have a stock K26/8 which effectively limits rwhp to 300, at the time I also had the stock wg which limited boost at higher rpm so a guess could be 270-280 rwhp.
I've know of 951's with similar hp that do high twelves with aggresive starting technique. Still with trap speed in the region 107-108 mph.

New software as in new chips or as in a new map for the SMT6?
I'm installing #72 injectors with the ST2 kit. Any downsides to this?

The setup you have is fine... All you need is to fine tune it to your car.

The new software and hardware will say good bye to chips!! SMT6 still functions the same..

Too early to talk about it now... I'll release some info shortly..

with ~310 rwhp/320tq my K27/6 keeps me dead even or slightly ahead of a Z06 from a 70-150mph. I would assume that >300 rwhp puts you easily into the 12's if you have traction and a healthy clutch.

I'm also in the 400rwhp range(17psi) with the factory DME and Vitesse chips. I get to enjoy the factory drivability but with the performance of a stand alone.,without having to constantly retune.

Stand alones are great, but you need to invest alot of time to make it work.

Hmmm since I still feel there's no definative yes or no for using 55lb/hr injectors I will get the car finished as planned and then once its been run in and dyno'd I'll see whats the next limiting factor.

Sorry to keep using your knowledge for my project but what do you guys think of the Lindsey super 61 turbo for this application? I'v noticed most of you use a 3" intake but the super 61 only has 2.75" intake not sure about the exhaust diameter. I am trying to reduce the lag issues I'v seen on alot of the higher tuned 944's so a huge turbo isn't what I'm after but I'd like to be sure it will hold the boost right through the revs.

Cheers again this discussion has been very helpful.
