In the 1/4 with a 951 its ALL ABOUT THE 60. In fact probably less than the 60. You just cant recover and ANYONE that can pull a very low 2 is a well versed in launces rear trans cars. Anyone with less than 2 has massive slicks on and a 99% killed tranny.

![Question](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have to find out more about the modifications 'Special Tool' is running? 405rwhp and 11.3 1/4?? Is this a limited life span light weight track rocket running loony boost?? How do the modifications compare to the ones on my car (see my first reply on this thread for details)? I'm hoping to use my car every day to get to work but there doesn't seem to be alot of cars running 400rwhp?
Is there a reason for this like they tend to blow up frequently? (or are the more powerful car owners just being quietly modest?)
I'v been hoping to keep some reliability running 1.3 bar boost?
What boost do you guys think I can run without destroying the car in 10,000miles?
Cheers in advance for any non sarcastic responses!

Divine - my car is perfectly tuned timing and fuel.
1.3 is nothing, I run 30 psi ALL THE TIME. Again, my car is perfectly tuned - on board everything.
The 405 RWHP was 23-24 psi with race fuel (I retard timing above 12 psi in steps for pump fuel). MANY things have changed since then.
I am looking for 500 RWHP race fuel run with 2.5 liter 8 valve in a couple of weeks. Sheet will be on my friend's site, alongside run #26, when I do it.

Acutally, you can do almost every conversion in google.
Try typing in "239 Kw to hp" without the quotes and see what you get.![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Other useful ones are psi to bar, mph to kph, etc...

Divine, I can't think of anyone who has 400+ rwhp without full stand-alone engine management. Custom mapped chips probably won't do it. A Lindsey or Vittesse kit with MAF and piggy-back would take you part of the way there. Regarding your proposed mods, a 2.8 L stoker engine is good for useable power on the street, but not the best way to go for maximum hp. Since you want reliable power for the street, it is probably a good choice but your target is a bit unrealistic. Also, there is no way 55 lb injectors are going to support 400+ rwhp. You might want to talk to one of the tuners about putting together a more integrated kit for your 2.8 L that would meet your objectives (e.g. Vittesse Stage IV, Lindsey 340 hp kit.)
Note: I say all this as an informed reader of this list, NOT as someone who has built a 400+ rwhp car.

Geez!! I would honestly never ever have thought even 400rwhp was possible on the 2.5 engine! Never mind 500!!! Thats an awsome hp per litre figure!! Well good luck with your project it sounds like your car is a really nice example of what can be done if you get it right! I'm hoping since my car is going to be set up by some of the best known 944racing/tuning guys in the UK (rather than by me!) it should be set up right! But only time will tell and I'm using custom mapped chips rather than a piggy back system which is probably not going to get the best out of it!

Waterguy, 400rwhp without a stand-alone is not an issue.. My car, still running the Motronic made in the mid 400s (yes 2.5L). Special Tool made 405rwhp with a leaky header and clogged stock exhaust.
The Motronic works fine, people that don't know how to tune it (VERY few know how) tell you it can't be done...
On a side note: I'm about to install a 911 Carrera 3.2L DME on my 930.. The goal is 500-600rwhp.. The motronic is fine!!

Hmmm mixed responses!! Thats interesting about the 55lb/hr injectors? I would have thought (with my fairly limited knowledge of the subject) that this would be a hard factor to guage but I have had my doubts about the injectors I am greatly increasing the airflow with the MAP kit, bigger turbo, Lindsey head and uprated exhaust?! But I'm trusting the more knowledgable oppinion of Andrew Sweetneham (www.promaxmotorsport.com) who's tuning my car and has built a similar 2.8 951 which produced 422hp at the flywheel at 6100rpm. His car was the same but without the Lindsey stage 2 head and he also had a standard exhaust which was probably a large restriction?!

If you are not one of the very few. A standalone makes more sense. And the earlier you buy it in your modding adventure, the mre benefit you get from it.
