Default custom fuchs

I gotta a guy who wants to sell his custom 17x7.5 (fronts) and 17x9 (rears) fuchs. The offsets are 24mm (fronts) and 18mm(rear). They were off of an 85' 911. Not sure if these would work on my 86' 951.

I've searched through the archives and I've got some confusing info. I know that the 16x7 911 fuchs will not work because of brake caliper clearance on the early 951, but not sure on a custom 17x7.5. And the rears sound like they may stick out a bit with possible rubbing issues (951=23.3mm offset). I seem to see alot of people with the 911 fuchs on 951s without any problems in the rear.

I'd love to hear if anyone here has a similar setup. Or if anyone knows definitively that the custom fuchs will not work on the 951.

thanks

It depends on who made the fuchs and how they made them if they will fit or not. Often 911 fuchs were cut up to make the 17s, and in those cases they will still rub your claipers. If they used 951 fuchs, or replica 951 fuch centers (or another custom variety) they will work.....

Bolting them up to a 951 might be the only way to be sure of the clearance......

BTW, the rears should fit just fine, the 23.5 mm sit will within the wheel wells.

OK, so the rears will work, but the fronts may have issues with caliper rub.

Could you use some spacers to clear the calipers up front? You think a 7mm would work? And will they not rub upfront with the spacers on the 17x7.5 fuchs?

thanks
