horsrom 951: The 2 factory updated idle stabilizerand hoses are factory....factory...factory. But the rest is the same silicone hose that Lindsey uses.
The only reason why we use a silicone hose for the brake booster to intake manifold feed, is pure economics(and a little bit of bling). The factory hose is 39$ whereas the silicone replacement that we offer is 10$.

skene: We are looking at offering the kit in black and the populor red. But for some reason, the black silicone is 25% more expensive. We will evaluate the demand and cost for those two colors shortly.

Can you answer me a couple of questions Steven?
Is hose #1 long enough to reach from the manifold to the brakebooster or do I need to cut it and use the T that's on the old hose?
What is hose #2 for?

And i wasn't referring to the two ISV hoses (yes, i know that both of you supply the factory ones). It was the long brake booster hose that LR sells the OEM where you supply the silicone, that is what i was pointing out.

tommo 951. No we do not carry red as of yet.
schnellfahrer : The long blue hose , is for the brake booster to manifold. And you are correct on re-using the plastic T, but you can also use one of the 5 brass T fittings and make another junction elsewhere.
Number 2 hose is for those who have a MAF intake (J-pipe). It goes between the J pipe and the metal pipe that serves as a crank ventilation tube.
Horserom: Now I understand. Both hose will do the same job, except that the silicone will last longer , it's obviously blue and it's more affordable then the factory part.

If you just want the OEM parts, then get them off Jeff at Sunset, they sell OEM parts at approx cost. No need to pay ore for the same part! However, Myswiss offers a cheaper aftermarket option that many enjoy, so its not a fair comparison.

Nobody has answered the core question - what exactly is the function of the venturi? Porsche put it in there for a reason and I'd like to know why before I go ripping crap out of there. What is its function and why a venturi at all instead of a hose? There's got to be something pressure-related here that I'm not seeing.

Jeff: Porsche even removed the venturi in the 88+ cars (or was that 89?)
MySwiss: Sure silicone is better and lasts longer than the OEM rubber hoses, that is why the LR Kit is more expensive (using OEM), that's all

I don't think so, since i check with various other vendors befor ordering anything.....
Unless i am mistaken, they best prices for most OEM parts are Zim's Autotechnic and Lindsey Racing. Unless you could proove otherwise
Dave Lindsey even cut me one good deal for Autometer gauges (since LR is also a distributor for them)......
Anyways, this is our opinions so.........it pretty much doesn't matter (in a way)

Yup you are wrong, Sunset sell at cost, go check their site. LR are expensive... easy, there is your proof
Example: LR price for the 968 mirrors (an OEM part) is $499.
http://www.lindseyracing.com/Merchan...4BODY968MIRROR
Pete944 paid $373.68 from Sunset when he bought his around April last year... I think the price has risen in the last month or two though, its just over $458 now. Need much more proof? Call Jeff and ask yourself 800-311-4858
By the way www.e-gauges.com will be cheapest for Autometer gauges... sorry to burst your bubble.
Its fact, not opinion... 499 > 458 If you want to pay more, thats your choice, not everyone wants to pay more from a vendor because they like them.
