It helps to have a good friend who owns a p-car garage and know the wrench real well. He does it as well as uses the 911 head sealant compound when he put the intake back on. It has a tendance to loosen up and let in air. Mine has been solid since the work was done ... am also the wrenches gopher when he works on my car!

Hmm Lets see
For the 951 - Once after the clutch job and busted a series of vac lines
For 84 Daily Driver - Never
For the 83 Parts car - hmm twice (upper balance shaft hsg leak, oil filler o-rings)
For the 88 924S parts car - The car Never had one
For the 87 924S parts car - Never (when the motor was in that car )
For the 944 Spec car - Hmm... never with engine in the car. However 3 times (one for each rebuilt)

Took off the fuel rail, intake gasket on runner #4 was partially blocking the injector path.
Off comes the intake, adjusted the the gaskets, double and tripple checked.......
Car runs even better now

Duby, Take your time!

Hey, we all make mistakes Duby.
Don't worry, be happy..Every little thing is gonna be alright. Saying, don't worry. a bout'a thing. every little thing is gonna be alright..
I usually drink a six pack and worry about my intake later..

Thing is, i did pay close attention to the gaskets when installing. But it was all done at night and not having a garage made things the way they went i guess......

I have an intake manifold gasket installation suggestion:
Purchase Hylomar gasket sealer. It is now made by Permatex and Pep Boys sells it. This is a non-hardening gasket sealer invented by Rolls Royce and is still licensed by them.
Clean the top of the cylinder surface and apply the sealer only to the head side of the gaskets. Place them on the head and install the intake manifold. The next time that you remove the intake manifold, the gaskets stick to the cylinder head. They also keep the small dirt particles from entering the holes, prolonging engine life.
The intake manifold sealing surfaces are so good that the gaskets will not leak.
