hosrom glad you got the video up. Sorry their is a cap on my email..I wish there wasent.

Supras are just amazing machines...most people who talk bad about them have no personal expeirence with them what-so-ever.

Tonight chris was out with us in his. He has intake,dp,exhaust,FMIC,BCC(boost cut controller),bov. On 18psi and pump he was just barely 4 then on higher boost and race gas he was 485 I think. Stock twins run outta gas at around 525rwhp.

Ofcourse if you go single the hp possiblities are endless. I got a video of a Bl67 GTQ turbo'd supra. 800rwhp on 28psi must be real nice.

Big John: With all respect to Supra's

I got people claiming they put down 800+whp and still doing 1/4 mile times of 11

that is the post made by other non-supra boards IIRC not mine

MY POINT is how other forums treat such cars and power (however, looking at the dyno curve, street driven is not something i wish to do in that car).

Anyways, since you know these cars

That boost level is just crazy man, are those engine really THAT tough?? how long would it last running that much boost daily (definately impossible without any sort of octane additive or race gas etc...).

hosrom those high boost runs are always on race gas. As far as the powerband maybe you forget to realize that alot of them rev to 8k! So full boost at 4.5k isint that bad after all. Its deffentely not a quick car off the line but. from a roll not having full boost until dont matter all that much anyways...just downshift and break boost. Those guys from 40 leave real good. Ofcourse....0-40 hmm different story.

As far as the quesiton about the short block...yes they are that tough. Ofcourse with poor tuning and improper fuel anything can be blown up. Most guys are in the 500's when it comes to modded supras...you wont see very many supras running 1000+rwhp....even though they can be made to take that kind of power to think that it will run forever at 40psi is nuts. Luckly most of them are street cars and very rarely see that kind of power if ever.

At 600rwhp they will last a very long time....at 1000rwhp I think its a time clock.

Race gas doesnt cheepin anything....not many cars period can make that kind of power at all. I have seen supras in the high 5's and 6's on pump gas and lower boost levels...but, those are large single owners with quite a bit of mods.

They make say 600 on pump and 900 on race for example. I would be happy with 500. I was all set to buy my supra and start modding it until I got bit by the CR bug. Now I dont know if I want a new CR car or a supra first. It would be a tuff choice...since the supra could be driven daily and be very reliable. The track toy would be just that....a toy only used for the track and would never see the street. I will have both question is which one first.

gotta love the supra. 1200 bucks gets you 400 at the wheels.

oh btw 800rwhp and 11's is driver not car. David runs 12.4's on his pump gas setting which is 17psi.
I could show you plenty of videos of 500-600rwhp supras in the 11's and 800-1000rwhp at 10's and below. Driver matters alot.

The stock supra runs a low 13 and one with intake/exhaust are easily in the 12's.

Anyways I'll shutup everyone knows I love the supra. Hard to not to respect something like that.

BTW I still love my 951...no flaming please...lets not turn this into another supra vs 951 thread. Apples and oranges guys. 951 owns the track.

I respect the Supra too but sadly they made it too big
& heavy. I once took a ride in one very trick out Supra.
Totally TRD & HKS stuff. Unbelievable top end power
but besides bragging rights there are'nt too many roads
here that's suited for a car with this kind of power.

I would have to agree. Although that go's for any 600rwhp car. There aren't many roads period where you could ever use that kind of power.

Big John: Dude, i never knew stuff like that about the Supra (though my neighbour brags about having a 800hp one LOL)

Still though, that is a **** load of boost.........

Regarding the roads, well, over 90% of my car is driven on the freeway due to the stupid configuration plots of the city. Those kind of cars (drag) hitting big HP/TQ numbers would surely be well suited here (what could be better than a road streatching 50kms without speed traps/radars, all legal too )

The essence of driving a sports car is
meaningless if you're only confine to
driving it at speed in a straight line.

A 749 rwhp Supra does the 1/4-mile in 10.32 @225km/t...with a missed gearshift from second to third. A 1000whp one should do a mid nine....at least. Guess I'll know in the summer...the Supra I'm talking about had 837 whp last year, and this year he's going for the 1000-mark....and then add 200hp of nitrous on top. Gonna be fun to waste him on the track with the Porsche, though.

Hi Funcrusher,
It's Chinese New Year here right now. The highways are empty
at night. Did a couple of runs on Monday night. Flat all the way for
about 4km. Can't really say it was fun for me. Consulation was I
get to see how fast my car could go.

Very true, but unfortunately this is the local crowd i have to put up with here (high revving engine and a straight line). If you're car could do 260+kms/hr here, it's a sports car.

That Supra has all it's power at the top rpm rang (somewhere of 4.5K-8k), and our newly opened track is filled with corners (23 in total, low speed), wonder how these cars perform there....oh wait, i remember, a couple of them overheated
