I'm not suspicious and I bought raffle tickets for it myself. It's a scary fast ride and he's upside down relative to the $$$ he's sunk into it. Also, he (Joe Cervantes) didn't win it, he had PH build it.

When I say it's a scary ride, I'm speaking from experience as he gave me a ride while he was in town for the Russo Steele (sp) auction. He was offered $43K (I believe) and passed it up. Sounds like a ridiculous $ for a 951 but based on the fact that his Ebay auction is @ $40K +/- now, I'm thinking Joe's pretty savvy...

BTW, this string is totally one of those that's equally as freakin' hillarious as it is informative...

Huh it seem's like there is some odd bidding going on, sweetgabbysweet has bid against him/herself for no apparent reason?? By the tune of a couple of thousand dollars, interesting, its like walking into a car-lot and paying more than the sticker price for no reason!

I think that's their bidding engine (aka someone posted a bid a little higher and their app upped his to counter it without reflecting the other one). As least I hope that's the case as I saw I outbid MYSELF on the last auction I was in...

Although the link in the first post still works, but when you search EBAY directly for "944 turbo" it doesn't come up. Last bid around $41,000. Did it sell, was it pulled by the seller or was it pulled by EBay? Curious to see if it was really sold.

Not really. Just a good example that investing $200K in a 944 Turbo doesn't make it worth $200K, or $100K, but maybe around $60K and even then, only if find the right buyer!

Expensive lesson, but then again these cars never make good investments anyway. I still don't understand why the car is for sale. Might as well keep it.

Totally agree.... That's what kept me from adding the flux capacitor to my 73 gremlin...

How can we possibly invest $200K in a 951? Must be some gold plating stuff somewhere!
