I was thinking of getting the LR tank just to make the closed airbox I am working on a better fit. There is not a lot of room there for the 9" K&N, but it fits.

Well its a way away yet! Te reason this came about was because of the HP rating of the K&N filters. Now, if you can create a positive air pressure environment, you can raise the effective HP rating. So, I am working on a CF air box that will mount to the two bolts near the head light (one is that earth bolt), and to the screw that holds the fender on. So I wont have to drill anymore holes! It will be a box, totally enclosed (it has to be otherwise it makes it nearly impossible to generate the kind of positive pressure you need). I will either cut a hole in the box and duct through the stock air box hole in the fender, or through the space my AC left on the bottom, depends which will generate the greatest positive air pressure (will test it first). Now, the top will be perspecs and screw into the box, for bling factor. And before I get more PM''s about it, no I am not making a batch of these! It takes a LONG time to make anythig like this.

Well, if you want to write up instructions, feel free. I'll make mine out of, like, plywood or something.

Firstly, plywood or metal wont work. Due to the shape of the wheel arch and where the expansion tank is. You just cant bend it that much (which has to be done to make the cavity big enough to hold a decent sized filter). Fireglass / CF is the only real option, I guess thats why LR make their MAF trap out of FG, but their setup wont create a positive air pressure as it does not make a box, it is only designed to block off heat I believe. I dont know that there is much to write up! Make a box, cut some holes! I wll post pics once done... in about 5 years at the rate of me learning to work with CF!

You boneead I was joking. I'm not going to put plywood in there. Why would anyone use plywood for anything in these cars (yuk yuk yuk)? I was thinking about aluminum though. Anyway, I just mean, after you do all the hard work measuring everything out I'll be happy to vulture the design and the measurements .

Mine made it to 19 before I replaced it with stock, bulgy and yellow, but it still worked fine.

Those sight glasses look like a problem waiting to happen. Not an elegant solution, but nice and shiny for those who like that kind of thing.

Ah I wasnt sure if it was the floorboard you were referring to

At least its not an old 911 with the drivers floorboard made of wood!
