FVD Brombacher 944 Turbo chips - Anyone tried them?

I recently fitted some 968 chips from UK tuner ProMAX into two friends' 968s and there was definitely a postive effect in performance for both cars.

Do you have any details about the chipset? Does it come with banjo bolt or boost enhancer? A DME alone is many 1,000 $$, so I am sure it's only the chips. I had good experience with the autothority chips. I would also recommend vitesse racing as I have heard good things about them. I am not too crazy about Guru Racing, I had a few chip sets and was never happy. Delivery takes forever.

I am under the impression that the very few companies are still developing their chips. I only know of Guru, Vitesse.

I have a unichip module laying around here somewhere.. Thing is that I want to be able to change the settings myself if using it but it seems that you have to take it to one of the resellers. The one closest to be has a bit of a shakey rumor.
If anyone wants a Unichip module I can let it go for 170 euros, that's what I paid.
Luis, when it comes to chips it is a very well tested area for our cars and I don't think you have anything to lose. When looking at the fuel and ignition curves on the stock and Superchips and comparing it to something like Guru (haven't seen the Vitesse spec) you can see that it is very much more optimized. When studying it the stock ones will actually look plain wrong with to much fuel down low which will help cool the exhausts and increase lag and not rich enough up on top.
If anyone wants a Unichip module I can let it go for 170 euros, that's what I paid.

My 951 is running a chip by ETG in Giessen, Germany - who don't have a website as far as I know. They have a very good name for tuning 951s - even the Swedish 951 specialist Sandén was impressed with how well it ran.

Luis, I thought you were going to go for Autothority Stage 2 chips. I read the last thread you started on chips and that made me decide on them. Like you, I wanted a simple 'plug and play' chipset. I was given the impression that Vitess/Guru are really designed for the people that want ot mod their cars further ie higher boost etc. Am I wrong?

Why go low boost when you can have the same reliability on high boost? Besides it is addictive so there is no way you will stay at low boost levels once addicted.

Got to admit that higher boost is very tempting but, like Luis, I have a low mileage car that I want to keep stock looking under the bonnet. Running higher boost seems to require alot of extra 'stuff' where as the Autothority just requires the jetted banjo bolt. If I had the money I would buy another Turbo and tune it to Kingdom Come...then drive it like I stole it

I must say that I really like the autothority chips, no matter what others have to say about them. They also where a good basis for me for other modifications and adjustments I did with the ARC2 or PSC1. I had 3 sets of Guru chips and I never really liked them and the FQS switch didn't work the way it was supposed to be. I always had to wait for months to get a newer version from Danno and then it didn't work either. I would probably try vitesse chips the next time though as he is always very responsive. I am sure that the SFR and Lindsey chips are also good.

OTOH, I might be lured to go with APE for the sole reason that you can get a chip set for less than $100 on ebay nowadays. They are still an awesome bang for the buck!
