Loctite 638 in Bay Area

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but my understanding is 574 can be substituted for 638, at least on the balance shaft covers. So, if you already have 574, or have a local source for it, you may be golden. While I'm still not answering your question, check www.globalstoresgroup.com, they carry quite a few of the Loctite products, to include 638, 574, etc...

Thanks, I may need to order it I guess. Loctite needs to advertise more. Every place I called thought that loctite just made red or blue thread locker... This loctite is specified in a TSB for an oil filter housing oil tube spacer, not sure it the 574 would work for that or not.

You may also want to check with R.S. Hughes at www.rshughes.com, they have many store locations nationwide, to include several in California. They appear to have 638. I got my Loctite 270 (not that common in the U.S.) from one of their stores in my area. Global also had it, but only in a larger than needed size.
