Default Will a K27 from a 930 boltup to our cars??

I have been doing the turbo research thing. I will admit I am very confused as to what works and how it bolts up. I know the 930 would only be oil cooled but was wondering if anyone has done this.

The 930 is air cooled and no water cooling for the turbo.

I guess modifications could be made but more cost then it's worth. Unless you could get one for real cheap.

The K27 compressor is a very nice mod for the 951. Use the compressor wheel and housing from the K27 and the stock middle and turbine from your K26/6. That is what I did, for an easy 300+ rwhp.

Eclou,

Would you mind telling me how you went about this and how $$$? I know of the K27 upgrades places like Majestic can do but was wondering what other possibilities exist to get a k27/6.

It can be done if you delete the water cooling. Make sure it is a 7200 version.

You don't have to delete the water cooling if you don't want to. Run either an oil+water or an oil only center. Best use the K27/7200 variation compressor. Turbochargers.com will rebuild your K26/6 into a K27/6 for $275 if you can provide the compressor.

That's why most places require a 'core'........

"Turbochargers.com will rebuild your K26/6 into a K27/6 for $275 if you can provide the compressor."

So the K27 cold side housing will bolt to the center section of what is in my car now?

Does the K27 have to be from a certain year? I have seen posts referring to a ldz and some refering to 7200. Is one for certain year 930 K27s?

I am sort of interested in this upgrade as well. Does anyone have a compressor map for a k27/6 or do they not exist?

Or does anyone have factual evidence about when they run out of efficiency?

I wonder what turbochargers.com would charge if you did not have a compressor?

I was able to purchase a spare turbine from the company that remanufactured a K26 I sent in. Turbo-power in Cameron Park CA. Total cost was $650. I twisted his arm a little, and know I got a very good price, but for what it's worth, talk to Clif. My only problem was that I didn't realize that the entire housing is larger ( the intake goes from 2" to 2-7/8", and I'm not prepared to deal with the plumbing (the stock water intake will not fit, and must be modified) and don't have the funds to get the EBC and injectors to do it right, so I bailed and sold it. Gonna have him build me a stock K26 and put more funds into the other toys first.

FWIW, I believe the classic 930 uses a version of the K26, no?
