Anyone ever rewire their fuel injectors?

performance? On the rewiring or replacing the O2 sensor? O2 sensor replacement will usually just clear up some running rich issues, and increase your gas mileage a little if the old one is bad. I am just rewiring my injector wires because the wires are cracked and breaking right at the connectors....i opened all of them last night, and all of the wires had cracked insulation. Unfortunetly to check, you have to cut open the boot, which means you are going to be doing some rewiring, which i knew mine needed. I read the instructions that came with my universal O2 sensor awhile back, but can't remember the exact reason why they said not to solder those wires.

Well here is one thing that ski thought of. Re-wire everything back to the boot where the wires enter the passenger compartment and use a three prong amp connector or similar. Then you could remove the fuel rail/injectors/intake manifold as one piece to simplifiy maintenance.

Any thoughts?
