okay, I changed the t-stat and bled and bled with the nose up about 18", no luck, although the main hoses were at least warm, metal pipe hot. Based on the amount of steam coming out of the bleeder and how fast it warmed up, the head gasket must have blown into the water jacket. Oh well, I guess it happens to every 951er' sometime. Which gasket should I go for? Where? Plan on sticking to my 15 psi. Thanks for all your wisdom, Bill.

Default Turns out it was a siezed water pump

After repeated attempts to bleed when there just did not seem to be any flow, I pulled the timing cover. There was the timing belt going around the stationary waterpump pulley without making a sound. Besides a rebuilt pump I guess it time to change the timing belt again. Any suggestions on where to look for a rebuilt pump? Thanks.

I bought a rebuild from the dealership for my N/A for $140. If it was good enough for the dealer, it's good enough for me.

I think I may have a tstat problem. Last spring the coolant hose coming out of the watrer pump busted. I never noticed if it overheated. But a month later the head gasket went. Since then it has run hot. I think I will replace the tstat. I looked at Pelican for the part and it says the turbo has two stats. I assumed I can get to one if I pull the coolant hose of the water pump, but where is the other?

Never mind I realized the other stat is that small thing coming off the pump housing that goes to the turbo and overflow tank. I just thought that I have had the undertray off all year. I think I will put it back on and see if it helps as I just did a search and found without it it allows air to go around the radiator instead of through it. duh!!
