Default Dyno result K26/6 @ 18psi

Today I had two runs at a dyno. The runs where for the purpose of collecting data with the Zeitronix wideband to fine tune the fuel curve (Power Perfect piggyback).

The fine tuning still has to be done, but the results so far did please me (partially). I had hoped for more hp, but did not expect the amount of torque.

First run (lean all the way):
287.8 hp @ 4934 rpm / 345 lbs/ft @ 3002 rpm

Second run (pretty good up to 4000 rpm, rich after 4000 rpm):
292.1 hp @ 5249 rpm / 384.3 lbs/ft @ 2943 rpm

Notice the huge difference in torque between both runs! I am expecting to get some more hp after fine tuning the fuel curve.

BTW the hp is at the crank!

Rebuild 2.5 8V, K26/6, 65 lb/hr Delphi injectors, Guru 18psi chips, boost set @ 18 psi, Pro-M MAF with Lindsey Racing PowerPerfect piggyback, Lindsey Racing 3" exhaust with RPM muffler, Lindsey Racing Dual Port wastegate.

Wow, I would have expected higher HP numbers. As you said, tuning still needs to be done, maybe the tuning will help it jump to over 300hp. When is your boost coming on ? Do you have some charts ? Man, those torque numbers are insane though !!

Really impressive numbers with a K26-6 (but not too surprising to me).
Assuming it was on a wheel dyno, how did you convert to crank HP & TQ?
Also the big difference in HP & TQ number would indicate a serious boost drop. What were the boost pressures at the corresponding HP/TQ rpm’s?

Definitely lets see the dyno chart. Did those torque numbers stay where they are or did they drop like a rock? I have a k26/6 with the stock afm and the torque nosedives, so does the boost with a manual boost controller. Bosst is better with an ebc but have not dynoed it again. Been playing with the idea of a K27 conversion or a map kit so I am interested to see what was accomplished with a k26/6 @ 18psi along with certain mods.

At the moment I am not able to scan the chart. The chart only shows hp, torque and afr (no boost). I don't know how the figures are converted from wheel to crank. They started with a "run" the measure the losses (0.16 PK/kmh).

Ofcoarse the boost drops in the higer RPMs (not sure by how much), but I still have 240 lbs/ft @ 6000 rpm.

Roughly the torque is:

RPM / lbs/ft
3000 / 384
3500 / 368
4000 / 354
4500 / 331
5000 / 313
5500 / 272
6000 / 240

(BTW I have a ReliaBoost installed).

Will check the boost drop tomorrow.

Please do me a favour, pet hate of mine. Torque is in lbft or Nm. Any other way of writing it is simply wrong. I know even lots of book use lb/ft but its just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOO bollox...

Here endith the public service announcement.

Thanks for listing.

p.s. nice figures.....

In Europe we usually use Nm, but to be polied I used THIS conversion page to give an easier comparison to the numbers on this forum. At the bottom of the page it reads lbs/ft.

I am very sorry if I offended you in any way

Within 24 hours there will be a scan of the graph!

The Zeitronix log files for both runs can be downloaded HERE.

how did the zeitronix numbers compare to the dyno numbers? Somebody said the zeitronix reads lean.

That would be me. .5 - .75 lean. Three times now at three diifferent dyno sessions.
I think he programed it that way to liimit liability.

It could also be the location of the sensor , the operating temp of the sensor, or sensor calibration and I'm sure other variables that could explain the diff readings from the Zeitronic VS a dyno .

Lutjen-

Cool, where is your sensor located? Maybe when I dyno I can lower the fuel pressure a little to lean it out. Would that help my mileage which seems to have gone down from 29 to 25 just highway cruising?

I see you live in CT, how hard is it to pass emissions and inspections with your car? May be getting a job out there. I live in IA and never had to deal with that stuff. The CT emission testing website kind of freaked me out, but I supposed I can just bolt up the cat, turn down the boost and put in the stock chips and probably pass, but was wondering what you do with your car to pass. Thanks!

EDIT: I see your car is lightened, so maybe it is a track-only car, in which case you can ignore my question.

Wife's brothers and cousins are all police - I am no longer required to pass emissions by law.

Sensor is immediately behind the front-most torque-tube tunnel brace.

Frank@Work What is shown in the user definable channel of the datalogging files?
