bugger. well the rust is not gonna be a big deal is it? it'll get burnt off or something almost immediately (sorry, clutch n00b here). and the pitting...well it's not really *pitting* as such...just the surface is not 'smooth as a baby's bum' smooth like eg the anodised bling bits which you'd put in your engine bay. it has small imperfections in the surface (eg like maybe pinprick size etc).

does that say KEP1? does that mean a KEP stage 1?

Yes it does say one, I dont think KEP works in stages though, maybe they do, I just asked Tim at SFR for a KEP light weight PP... and thats what I got sent.

How different are the issues your PM'd me about when compared to my stuff?

lol just what i was doing.

the last photo is the worst of them. the other marks are a *lot* smaller - like, pinpricks basically.

oh, and KEP do work in stages. there is a stage1 and a stage2, with stage2 obviously being higher - i think it's 3200# vs 3800#. damn, i figured u had the stage2 as well. hope my poor leg can handle it on the street .

hum, so is it worth cleaning the rust off the pressure plate? it's on both sides, but just minor surface rust.

oh sorry guys, this thread grew out of a pm i sent nz asking what state his KEP arrived in.

no, not selling it. i just got it, but it's got all this surface rust etc. i'm wondering whether it's worth cleaning it off, or do i just get it installed and start driving? the rust is on both sides of the fingers - could use some emery cloth or something to clean it off.

I say clean it, it wont take that long and you have piece of mind. It would likely wear off, but I dont have any experience in this issue. Its a very nice clutch kit have been driving for a month on it now.

How much is the PP, and what is the difference between the different versions?
