You can get a V70R that comes with a 5 speed, 19T turbo stock ( a common upgrade for the 850/S70 HPT motors) and AWD. It is quite a kick butt vehicle. It also comes in laser blue.
I'm pushing close to 300 hp on my daily driver S70 and it is pretty darn fun for a luxury car. There are guys in Sweden that run an 11.7 with not a ton of mods done. They run crazy boost and slicks though.

Is yours an AWD?
I really like the 850, but they weren't sold in the US w/AWD unfortunately, and I just don't want a FWD car. I thought it would be OK for daily use. I've grown to love the car (wagon!), but not it's drive wheels... I'm specifically looking for a wagon again. I will probably take it further than I have my Porsches.

Nice pic. Volvos have some pretty good storage capability. I got a new front door and screen door home in my trunk. I have an S70 T5 sedan. It is FWD. You are right they don't make 850s in AWD trim in the U.S. Though the S70 and V70s come in AWD. You can also get a dual exhaust on the AWD cars as they come with a half functional dual stock. The second pipe routing and bumper outlet is there, but is blocked off. I think only the V70R is a manual though. That is one fine vehicle. The LPT (only version offered in AWD) cars have lower boost, but take off like a rocket. Boost comes on around 2000 rpm (vs 3000 on HPT cars) and the AWD helps launch. They run out of steam around 45 mph though. A chip and exhaust can cure that quick though. Stock 0-60 is probably in the low to mid 7s for an AWD car.
S70s are pretty fast stock (0-60 in 6.1-6.4) for an HPT depending on auto or manual. However you can get sub 6 second 0-60 with just a chip and tune up. Add a suspension and you are going to do even better. There is a group buy going on right now for extra strong adjustable sway bar end links. I think that will be a perfect match for my new koni's, lowering springs and IPD sways.

Thanks for the links...I really like my C70; it is so damn heavy that I'd like to get some out of the motor, but the IPD motronic upgrade seems pretty damn pricey compared to 944T chips (you won't often find something on the 951 cheaper than anything else, eh?)...

The chip that I bought was about $400 and the speedtuning chip is in the $300 range. I like IPD for some things, but their prices are way out of line. There is www.eurosporttuning.com and www.volvomotorsports.com for other places to buy things.
