Default 16x8 928 "Sewer Lids"

Will a set of 16x8 928 "sewer lids" with an offset of 52.3mm from a 928 fit on the front of my late offset 89 951?
Has anyone tried it?
I'm afraid it might push the tire to far out and rub the fender.

The stock 951S 7" wheels have more offset than the usual 951 front, they run a wider front tire and (or so I'm told) the S front hub sticks out a bit more. I know it is common to run 8" fronts with 245's on the 951, and your fenders are already rolled so you are probably OK. Maybe you can eyeball the clearance you have now and calculate how much room you have.

Yeah if my front suspension wasn't in pieces (koni's sent off to Koni)
I could mount my rear 9" wheels and figure if the 8's would work.
I think I'll buy a set of the dishes and try cutting them to look like the clubsports.

EXCUSE ME?

I wouldn't go cutting on any wheels, unless you have a big life insurance policy, then let your wife do it so it doesn't look like a suicide...

I've always thought the 928 wheels looked good on a turbo anyway...

Andy I see what your saying.
Others have machined the wheels and have had good luck or so I am led to believe.
I don't know that I could get the EX-wife to do it unless I put the insurance
policy back in her name. then again she might just enjoy it.

The clubsport wheel is just the good ol' 928 flat with a larger cutout. I think with CNC you could easily duplicate the clubsport wheel but for the time and trouble I'd just hunt up some clubsports... oh but you want an 8" wheel to match the clubsport.

Yes I was looking to put a wider tire on the front.
I have two sets of clubsports but the fronts are 7x16 which only allows
a 225 tire.

The 8" club sports have a reinforcement spine on them on the backs. It is a unique forging from the sewer lids - at least from behind. Devek is set up cnc wise to do this right and if you will assume the liability, It'd be worth it to hand them to them to do it.

I have a set of (2) 8" club sports I would be willing to trade for a set of proper 9's.

8's only came on the front of the 928GT's - hence the 928 part#.

Matt
Thats a good offer, I'm thinking about it.
I've got two sets of clubsports one cromed i use for street tires . The other set
is silver in color and I use it for track tires.
My only problem is if I trade a pair of the 16x9 then I'll end up with only one usable set of clubsports.
