Started getting the car prepped up an decided to bite the bullet and get some hard pipes. I have used the Tial BOV's in the past and found them the business. Noticed a few rennlisters have hardpipes with them fitted, where can I buy them? Wasn't Boostguy gonna make some before the hurricanes???

Just take the Tial flange down to a muffler of metal bending engineer and have them make some, its very easy. I paid just over NZD200 for both my pipes including welding etc.

I was looking at Tial's product and I didn't see any that recirculate the air. Don't tell me yo.u are just going to set the air free and fudge up your re-spool and discombobulate the measured air mass when you close the throttle??/ Say it ain't so, Tommo

PS you need a ****load of vacuum to actuate the valve... seriously a LOT! So make a dedicated line the size of the stem off the BOV. Maybe even tap a fitting in the manifold on the flat section near the TB or have a dedicated drilled banjo off one of the ports.

I am fitting MAP too so won't lose the measurement of air mass. The respool is a bit of a bone of contention a bit like wastegates to atmosphere. Most specialists seem to have their own views I have mine too and I would not worry about BOV's to atmosphere, but not too keen on wastegates to atmosphere.

Andrew, unfortunately we have lost track of most of those skills in UK. Pipe benders????? If it doesn't come ready made the exhaust/muffler fitters are not interested. Very few fabrication shops locally and I am only 14 miles from centre of London

Well that sucks. A muffler shop could do it as well. Its really very easy if they have the car. No tuner would have these off the shelf, heck I dont know if anyone else using the Tial 50mm BOV on a 951.

Would it help if I took the dimensions off mine and sent them to you? Or are there seriously no shops that can bend a pipe? Hmmm I should sell you mine and make tons of cash :P

There is nothing to these pipes... a little welding and bending and you are there, obviously you pay labour for the skill with SFR, and polishing etc. Having said that, I dont have an ISV or venturi or fuel purge, so I dont have anything going into the pipes

Andrew
Do these pipes have to be aluminum or is steel OK
I assume at a muffler shop they are using steel ?
If so, do they rust on the inside ?
thanks in advance

Steel is ok if they are coated, mine are powder coated. They are not exposed to water on the inside plus there is usually some oil in the pipes so no rust on the inside. I also powder coated the inside however... SS or Al would be better if you want polished or light weight versions (Al).
