I talked to Tim at SFR about the 3" down pipe when I ordered my system.
He said that unless I were running a big turbo it wasn't worth the upgrade.

I never tested the SFR exhaust but it looks better finished than the Lindsey one and closer from the stock concept (with a cat-back to testpipe joint, etc..)

I currently have the Lindsey 3" exhaust with Flowmaster 40. I don't like it. It will be removed in the next weeks to put back the stock exhaust (with a test pipe in place of the cat). The Lindsey doesn't fit perfectly and i cannot use the hanger from the middle of the car. The clamps are b..**** and create exhaust leaks and the Flowmaster 40 sounds more like a tractor than like a sport car in my mind
It's loud at low rpm (when cruising) and produces a bad sound when WOT.

And since i installed the Lindsey exhaust, i have some AFR problems, still unsolved now. I tried everything to add or remove fuel (from the AFPR of from the AFM) but i still feel some "gazs collisions" under the car. I hope it will be solved when replacing by stock exhaust.

PS: This is my personnal mind, and this post is not there to flame Lindsey products. Dave and Mike have a great support. Maybe, this is just not good for my car or for me.

I can't comment on the lindsey unit since I dont have one but I do have the SFR catback and like it a lot. The mechanics that installed it were very impressed and had no problems installing it.

I can think of ONE downside to the SFR unit. The clamp for the muffler to pipe section uses SAE bolts I had to go buy a socket to tighten it, I mean really, who owns SAE tools?

Not me - the engine in my 4x4 Chevy is now called a "6 liter" no longer a 383 and it has a 15 mm drain plug.

I just recently installed the Lindsey unit. I had to get the hangers cut out and rewelded in. I have not ran the car so I dont know how it will sound or if there will be any leaks. I honeslty dont care about the bling under the car, i dont mind trying to get something to fit, and i sure dont mind having a few leaks to take care of as long as i dont put down over a grand on an exhaust when in reality they will both put out the same amount of power and I dont care about the sound.

I dont understand the thing on price. I got my SFR for $439 shipped on the big griup buy a year and a half ago. You cant buy clean air for that much anymore. How much cheaper can you go without wondering what kind of product you are getting. My SFR build quality is superb.

Today I have installed a Lindsey Racing 3" exhaust. The reason I choose for the LR exhaust was the very low price (compared to other exhaust systems) and the very good service I have received over the last years from Lindsey.

I was a bit afraid it would be a hell of a job to get to exhaust system on the car after reading a lot of posts saying it won't fit without cutting the hangers and rewelding them.
I had no problem whatsoever! Perhaps not everybody knows you have to loosen up ALL the bolts on the exhaust system when installing a new exhaust (part). This includes all the bolts from the exhaust headers, cross-over pipe, wastegate, etc. This also includes the bolts from the mounting brackets on the transaxle. You can position the bracket exactly at the place you would like them to be!

I am very happy with the sound of the exhaust system (RPM muffler) and have no complaints on the way the exhaust system fits.

Only thing I have to say is that for the price lindsey's full exhaust is hard to beat..for a racer on a budget that does all his own work ..... 1 does it deliver 2 how much $

It's like ~$960 for a complete SS exhaust.
I still haven't decided. I'd prefer to buy from a Rennlist sponsor.
