Default Stock 26/6!!! Yeah baby! Video** Boost log Vid up now!

I am soooo stoked you guys don't even know. We finally went out and did the boost pulls and kevin was able to watch the boost gauge while I drove the car and guess what!!!! My boost drops off at higher rpms! From about 19.5-20psi at 4k too about 5.5k it drops to about 16psi. I can't believe it. That means I really do have a 26/6 and my car runs like this! Holy shiet! to think the car runs this strong on such a small turbo makes me feel great. Not that finding out I had a cheeter turbo was the end of the world it wasent but, just knowing that the car runs like this one the stocker means when I finally do upgrade its going to be just stupid.

There has been so much freggin speculation about the turbo everyone saying my car can't run like it does on a 26/6 ect. I believed it myself because I have never seen another 26 run like mine does...so why not it makes sense right. Maybe my car sets some kind of record for a bolt on 951 I dunno but, either way I just can't believe it....thats sooo crazy. My car truely is just a bolt on 951 and to have it preform the way it does is just crazy.

I can't wait until the big turbo gets on there and I can make more power and hold it all the way through the rev range....oh my god!!!

I atribute the car running like it does because the tuner was invloved with every aspect of the car from the get go. Not that a tuner can't make good chips or good products for a car 1500 miles away they can but, when they have the car there in their shop and they get to build the parts, install them, then tune them...holy cow.

I am sorry if I am sounding like a broken record I just can't believe it. I really can't wait to hit the dyno and see what she's making.

here is the footage from tonights late night fun. My favorite part is when I say "more Ac Dc" and kevin has the camera on the speedo and tach. You can really see how 1st through 3rd accelerate. You get to see how fast it really does go through the bottom gears. Thanks to everyone for all their help with my car and to rennlist. None of this success would of ever come about without you guy's. You guys made this possible.

Now lets strap on a big turbo some race gas and go to work baby!

Vid will be up at the end of the hour.

Vids up!

What kind of mods do you have to support 20psi? Also this is pretty well documented - supposedly the stock k26 will support 15-16 psi all the way to redline but not 18psi. This is probably why I won't bother with an 18 psi setup until much more is done to prepare the car for it (larger injectors, different turbo, 3" exhaust, etc.) Good luck with your project and #'s though - keep us posted!

Umm mods are Lindsey Racing stage 2 maf, Lindsey racing stage 1 head, Lindsey racing 3inch exhaust system no-cat, Koklen stage 2 chips,55lb siemens injectors, Dual Port lindsey wastegate, Power Perfect fuel controller,Pro-m, Cockpit Mbc,evo bov,umm thats about it I think. I got a lindsey tune up kit and vac line kit but, I dont think you can call those performance oriented mods.

I think thats everything for the motor side of things. I will have to check receipts to make sure.

**edit** okay I am going to list everything that I know has been done to the car. The entire motor was rebuilt about 25k ago. The turbo was done about 20k ago. The rear end was fitted with Quaffie LSD, the tranny was rebuilt and had Turbo S 1st and 2nd gears installed, steel syncro's, umm bilstein shocks,450lb springs, poly bushings, every hose or gasket or bearing you could think of anywhere was replaced(receipts for everything)

basically the car has 25k miles on it with the lindsey mods listed above. I will go back and seriously look through and double check but, I think thats most of it.

It sounds like you have everything you need to run a larger turbo - possibly a stronger h/g would be good, but it sounds pretty solid. Best of luck. You should be able to dyno around 330+ with that setup at around 16 or 17 psi I'm guessing. . . Probably more if you want to dial up the boost.

I have a widefire ring HG kit in the car already. Thanks I dont know what its making. Everyone and their brother says a 26/6 wont make 320-330....I dont really know. All I know is for the car to run like this on the stock motor and turbo is crazy.

John: So your 88 (which is supposed to have a K26/8) was replaced with a K26/6?

Is it JUST because of the boost drop that you suspect this? When you took of the cylinder head, you didn't take a picture of the blue tag on the turbocharger?

(just asking all this)

my 88 is a NON S. I do not have a turbo S car. The 88 NON S's came with the #6 hotside not the #8. The 88 Turbo S's came with the #8 and the 89's did as well.

** Edit** video up in 22 minutes

Now you just need to learn how to use the whole rev range.

Btw, yesterday Danno made me a set of 18 PSI 98 RON octane "sweanders brew" with a 7080 rpm rev limit for the Cup car (K26/8). It will be interesting to see how it runs once I get it on the road again (damn winter)..

yeah I know I wish I could rev to more than 6500 but, in all honesty the turbo wouldnt make it worth it anyways. When the new turbo finally gets on the car then I will see about reving to 7k

I just got to say a couple things..
1. I'm very happy you love your car.
2. Your car seems to be very nice.
3. I like your videos.
4. Get that damn thing on the dyno so we can end this drama of what turbo and how much HP your car has!!
5. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest
Regards,
Evil

Wow, boost comes on pretty fast.

How do yo ujsut turn up the boost without adjustments to the a/f ?? Or did you do that and we just didn't see it?

Also, with such a recent turbo rebuild, I would say that could be considered a little more then a "stock" turbo. At least it would be considered much fresher then a bone stock k26 that has 100K + miles on it which account for a little more performance.

In any case, nice!!!

Imagine what a VR stage 2 kit will do

You might want to post on the NOVA Porsche BBS http://www.dorkiphus.com to see if you can find ou some more information on the car. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I noticed your AF gauge wasnt dithering at cruise and looked like it was lean when on boost
compared to mine.
It it one of the modified autometer gauges that only read on full throttle?
