If you are at 12.5:1 at full boost, the car will let you know how it doesn't like it.

The above assumes that you have timing that wasn't done by an idiot.
Lutjen, the timing is controlled by the chips right? if that's the case should I change my chips?

What I am saying is that the 951 with AGGRESSIVE timing does not like to be leaner than 11.8 at torque peak.
When you approach the knock threshold for maximum power, this begins to become evident.

Hally, my WB unit will be here tomorrow, I know reasonably well what AF I will be dialing in, but it would be great to get a few perspectives... maybe a new AF thread is in order so we dont hijack this one...

lart951, you probably know this but you want to have some way of monitoring knock before considering playing with timing. You can view & edit your chips timing maps with an eprom burner. If those guru chips you have were supplied for the SFR turbo that you're running, then hopefully your timing is appropriate. You want to get the fuel right first.

I don't know what version of guru chips I have. After the turbo, injectors and LR digital MAF were installed I took the car to Danno, he installed the chips, a shimmed wastegate, a new head gasket and dyno tunned the car, but the car broke a ring shortly after so he never finished tunning the car.

Lart: Your GURU chips were purchased when you had an AFM? if so, you would need MAF chips to get things dead on.........

Andy: Yeah, Special Tool just pointed that out about the AFR

Never mind, you and i posted at the same time...........

That's strange because I never have trouble getting in touch with Danno.

Well today I decided to pull my existing chips and reinstall my old Authotority chips. As soon as I connected the dme & krl the car was dying with so much gas the AFR was 8:01 , it took me 2 times to upload the map to the Power perfect until I got it close enough to drive it, once driving I did 2 more adjustments and than Dammit!! what a difference the car was pulling harder than ever and not only that, but it burned tires in 2nd gear something it never done before, also I could hear the turbo louder and I am only running 17psi of boost. Well Monday I 'll be taking the car to the dyno shop to see if maybe I got close to 300rwhp mark.

Those SFR turbos do make a hell of a noise! Did you hear mine on the dyno?

Yes, yours sounds like a 747 taking off. When are you going to post some racing videos Andrew?
