Max boost for Guru/ Link map kit

That won't help the Interceptor since it has an inbuilt map-sensor but more importantly it only has a given number of mapping points so you won't be able to program anything specific for above 20 psi.

Ah I see... well, 22. whatever psi is a lot... further, it takes the last row if over that psi, the chances are you are rich as around then anyways. Right?

Oops meant 22 psi.
Yeah I think the second last row is 14 psi. So even with a good tune for 22 psi in the last row there probably will be some rich spots inbetween event though it interpolates.

I think the issue here is the overboost-protection in the DME chips. I'm going to do some testing today and see how far I can raise it and perhaps remove it. More details in a bit....

Edman, if it's overboost then the effect should remain for a while after the fuel cut. See this thread.

Thomas,
Thanks for the link. Can't say how long it last. Since when it hit i let go of the gas to idle in neutral and costed for a while.
Then i lowered the boost by 1/8 of a turn to about 18psi. And i was able to go WOT and drive with 18psi.
Hey Danno, do you think i'm maxing out my 55/lb injector.
Is their an easy way to test my guty cycle?
Beside not being able to rich up the top end at higher boost.
Keep us posted on the overboot limit.
Badcoupe, With a EBC you will be able to have the same boost in all gears. I know i can with mine.

How do you control overboost without the cycling valve? do you cut the ignition with the Guru Chips? Does this only apply to MAP sensor equipped cars?

I am sure that someone will correct me if I am wrong; however, my understanding is that the cycling value is the first line of over boost protection that allows for the bleeding of boost. The second line of over boost protection is when the computer shuts down the ignition (Porsche designed). The fuel is still flowing (if not this could cause another independent problem). When the boost pressure drops the ignition comes back on. That can cause a violent explosion (in the exhaust) that can take out your muffler and scare the devil out of people behind you (don’t ask me how I know).

I agree with ed my car jerks violently and I get a big backfire like I do when I hold down my 2 step too long. I wish there was some way around it as it's annoying. But, with my old chips and AFM I could run 22-25 psi no sweat. But only with the MAP have I had this problem. I've got a hot *** ignition system already.

Problem is you are maxing out the voltage to the dme. The dme can only read 4.7 volts max. Once you hit that point the dme goes into over boost protection. There are a few ways around this but I will not get into it here.
