"Nothing is more expensive than a cheap Porsche" - Haleluyah brothers! Doesn't get more succint than that! Investing sweat equity, instead of paying $$$/hr labor rates is what makes these cars affordable (barely) for most of us. Doing your own work only slows the bleeding! Even if you get one for free, you'll be upside down in a year! Steering rack, clutch, belts, rollers, waterpump, turbo waterpump, headgasket, bearings, DME, KLR, seals, more seals - sooo many parts to go bad, so little time! GOOD LUCK!

Is this guy serious? 2k for a 951? You better expect a stripped *** chassis because you won't even find a fair 951 for 5k.

dude for 2k you will be lucky if you find a decent honda to buy. all the guys here are right, but you really need to hear it from me, i habe owned 19 944s , 7 turbos, 3 s2s , and the rest were na
i have bought once a running 944 turbo for 1500$, but i had only one drivers seat, a steering wheels and an antena, also i had a salvage title and only 3 wheels. all the fendes were beat up, and had no wind sheild. iamgine you are fortunate to find one like (nost people would love it just for the engine and tranny, and so i did), if i were to think to build it back it would of cost me 10K just to get it look decent and may be run for few weeks without towing it.
also, i have bought many 944s that were perfect in and out for 3K but needed engine work, but once you take it to the shop and you hear 4K to fix, well you know where its going
also, you can actually pick a nice one on ebay for 5k or 6k, it may look good and run good, but that doesnt mean you are not going to spend money on it, you will have to service it, and beleive me you will push it many times and curse all day, and then hit your head against the wall once the mechanic tells you the pricce to fix.
so if you really want a good looking and running 951, you are going to pay 10K to get a 95% good 951, or you can pick one of those 5 or 6k , but expect to spend 3k to make it as good as it can be.
you know i have sold 3 1986 944 na but were in perfect condition and had allthe maintenace for more than 9K each, and the buyers bought them cause they new how much it costs to make them that way
well after all of this if you still think you want a 951, wellllll, get a life. i wish people told me about their problems before i fell in love with them. now iam stock i have 3 of them parked, and since i sold my s2 cab, i cant help my self until i buy another one and swap a turbo engine in it ...well its a long project for the nest year.
if yoiu really want peace BUY A HONDA
