Default Optimum max boost for K26/6

Can someone tell me what the optimum max boost level is for a K26/6 turbo?

Can I get dynosheets from someone who has tested on one day several boost settings on one car with a K26/6?

Thanks!

Laust was running 25psi boost on his car (not sure if it was a K26/6 or a K26/8 though), but that turbo was WAY in-efficient at those levels and caused him problems??

. Maybe he would pop in and post a dyno or something

I can't seem to find it in the archives but I thought Danno did some testing and found that above 17-18psi it was out of its range and created too much heat to be beneficial.

Optimum from what standpoint? Durability? Lowest charge temp vs. unit horsepower? Most optimum to blow your headgasket?

Optimum so once you get to the point where you turn it up 1 more pound of boost, it isnt as efficient. Meaning that you dont get the same power as you did when you turned it up the last time. I think the K26 loses its effiency at 17psi. That's what I was told by Lindsey Racing.

Frank,
Here's a link to Rennlister's dyno day where there are several of the boost comparisons with the same car/turbo and you can decide for yourself. 17 psi seems like a likely number for the edge of efficiency. Farzaan's Dyno Day While they're charts for K26/8, look at the Steve R. chip comparison at 14.5psi and 16.5psi. Approx. 1 hp gained for each psi of extra boost. Then look at the stock vs. APE chart. Approx. 7 hp gained for each psi of extra boost (11.5-16.5psi). It looks to me like 15-16 is a better target.
