Which ones are better? (chips)
By the time I got it to Danno's I'd fixed all the vaccum leaks - there were a few on the old J-boot (it was dry-rotted) and a couple of the old (stock) vaccum lines looked less-than-trustworthy. Additionally, the rubber lines going from the CV to the metal piping under the intake were totally destroyed - they had gotten so brittle they'd just snapped off. The same thing happened to the big line from the brake booster to the idle stabilizer, the line from the venturi to the J-boot, and both little hoses from the idle stabilizer to the intake. Check them all - those things get VERY dry. I'm going to replace all the stock lines with the Lindsey purosil lines just out of paranoia (they're sitting in my garage right now). Also, I've found that a little hand vaccum pump ($40 at AutoZone) is VERY useful for hunting down these kinds of leaks.
Good luck!
