Yes, I have painted a bunch of sets, including the green ones in my current sig picture.
The best advice I have to give is just to make sure you really prep the surface well, whether it needs sanding, scuffing, etc. and then a good cleaning, you want to make sure the surface is as prepped as possible so that none of that paint ends up chipping off from heat and debris.
Also, apply at least two nice layers of primer, that usually helps keep the paint from falling off also. And lastly, try to lay your clearcoat on as smooth as possible, because if there is any texture in the final finish of the paint, it will make cleaning future brake dust off them very difficult!
