Default Handheld Steamer!

I picked up a handheld steamer/cleaner from autozone today for 60 bucks. You just fill it with water, and It shoots out a scaldingly hot stream of steam, and it has little attachments with different scrub brushes and such. I went to work on cleaning the engine bay, and I am very impressed. I also used another attachment to steam clean the interior. This little thing rocks! I am also going to add a dilution of simple green to the water and I bet that will remove any grease or corrosion beneath the engine. I also used it to steam the weatherstripping around the windows (I had a little primer overspray on it from my paint job).

I wouldn't normally post about this type of thing, but I would definitely recommend it to any car nut.

Did you buy that blue one?
I have the scuncci steamer they show on all of the late night infomercials, it isn't as good as yours sounds.

Mines yellow and doesn't hold a ton of water, but it works extremely well. I will have to try the Simple Green idea, altho just plain water has worked very well. I've had one for about a year now, thanks to Ben Wornall (aka Hy M8NC).

Its a good product.

I share your enthusiasm for what a steam-cleaner can do. I recently bought this (HA-188) and it removes what I thought were permanent stains.

My wife bought one and she hated it, she was in the process of giving it away when I said, whoa, that thing will rock for cleaning car parts...and it does!
