Default Best Source for Stroker Kits???

Looking for a good reliable, and, yes, cheap source for the pistons and connecting rods to build a 2.8 L turbo engine. I already have the 3.0 L crankshaft, so just need the other parts.

Thanks in advance...

Don't know if they are the cheapest, but Lindsey Racing sells the stroker pistons (pistons with lower pin holes) and Carrilio/Pauter rods.

Andial also sells stroker kits (www.andial.com)

What exactly do I need to convert my 2.5 to a 2.8l?

The stroker kit itself?

I believe it can be done with just the new pistons and crankshaft. However I'm a bit confused from reading older topics as to if the block needs to be modified for clearance or not.

Note: I'm looking for information, I am by no means educated on this topic.

Cheapest way I think is to get the
pistons from Andial & run with
the 951 con rods. If Im not mistaken,
you would have to do a little grinding
on the block for clearance between
the rod & the block

JChen: Yes, with the stock rods, the nut would need some grinding to avoid contact with the pan.

This is what you need for a 'proper' stroker kit:

3.0L Crankshaft
100.00/100.50mm stroker pistons (pin holes ~4mm higher than stock?)
New Carrilio Rods (4.55MM shorter than stock rod length)

You could always use the stock rods and just 'grind' the rod nuts for clearance which is 'cheaper' if you like , do a search on this as it has been covered several times.

Wrong Hos,
You don't want to grind the nut & it's not the oil pan
that's getting hit. Also I think your info on Carillo rods
is incorrect. It should be longer or the same lenght
as the standard rods. The gudgeon pin of the Andial
pistons are nearer to the piston crown than standard
pistons.

I may be wrong about if the oil pan gets hit (that is what i read) but here is a link to the Lindsey site that claims the 'shorter' rods for a 2.8L stroker:

Here is one of the links searched and covered on the forum:

Lindsey also sell Pauter rods that they claim you could use the stock pistons with a 3.0L crank, but need some clearances and the CR would rise as well:

George B., I doubt many here know who you are and what you do. Email me directly I can provide you with a contact info to someone that will provide you the pistons other than Andial...

The 2.8L stroker has been covered in full details no too long ago, "jwl" had a thread in this regards and i provided a link to a site that discusses and has pictures about the rods/rod bolts and what's needed...

I thought I heard that with a 2.8 motor in the 951 with the same turbo running I "THINK" about 12-14psi, you are looking at 290rwhp.... I am in the air with doing this to my car in like a year from now or just saving up for a 993 turbo. Still not sure yet but the more info I can get would be great but don't want to tie up anyones hands if I am still not 100% set on it.
