Digital clock problem 1986 turbo
What appears to have been the original digital clock was no longer functioning when I purchased the car. I have since purchased a used clock and upon installation the numbers appear, however, when the main light switch is turned on the entire clock goes dark, ie no numbers. Have since checked the connections, wiring config., fuses, etc following wiring dia. to no avail. Returned the 1st used clock and was sent another. the same problem occurred with the 2nd. Now what?

Sounds to me like a couple of the wires in the connector on the wiring harness got switched around. Does the clock reset itself, too?
If you are interested in swapping your clock for a rennbay clock mount LED a/f meter, let me know. SInce I bought a wideband, I have no use for it.
Regards,

These clocks always cause problems. The main issue is there are TWO lighting circuits. One lighting circuit uses clock power, and the other uses dash light power.
When the ignition is on and the dash lights are off, clock power goes to the lamp. When the dash lights are on a transistor is supposed to switch the lamp to dash light power.
Another "issue" is the clock, interior lights, and the cigarette lighter get their power from fuse #11, and at random times using the cigarette lighter will cause the fuse to blow.
