Can I catch a ride with someone in Mass. that has 300-400 F springs?

So what's the proper method of matching the dampers to the springs? I'm assuming that too soft of a shock would pogo while too stiff would do what exactly? Anybody know the range of adjustment that the Koni sports will handle with regard to spring rates?
