I am also not considered a "daily or principle driver on my car" because it isnt the most expensive one in our family. That is where they stick you also!!

Before we decided to insure the car...HECK before we even bought it, haha we checked all the agencies possible, and my local agency had the best quote, and no one could beat them.. So good advice also is to check around alot!

they wanted $8000 a year with full coverage
that's more than I paid for the car, all for just one year of insurance.

Age of the car seems to hold high precedence with some companies for insurance rates. My first car was a 1993 Geo Storm (Somehow fell into the "sports" profile, as does the 944) When I switched to the 1987 Porsche 944, the insurance rate went DOWN. This is with USAA btw.

29, married, gainfully employed, $1,600/yr. Sadly, I can't get a collector policy because I don't have a daily driver. I live in NYC -- the subway is my daily driver. Bummer.

Yup, you are looking at not only high priced insurance, but i think most guys here will agree that plan on about $1000 a year in maintenance (unless you get lucky and find a pristine 944)...especially with a teenage driver..lol. There is nothing more expensive than a cheap porsche.

edit: 32 bucks a month liability/comprehensive, 500 deduct. 100/300, towing, un/underinsured motorist, blah blah blah, multiple car/renters policy, 27 years old, been with them since i was 17, state farm.

edit: No tickets, no accidents.

Plus a 10 year old civic will get you in a lot less trouble than a P-car. AND be cheaper to insure, at least if not more reliable, cheaper to fix.

Of course, a P-car is too awesome.

yes just one hundred seventy four dollars and fifty cent a year. That is Full coverage. The hitch I can only drive the car 2500miles a year. Which is fine by me.
