Default 951 for sale

ok folks, my car is for sale, here are the details (the ones i remember anyway):

-86 951, 124k miles
-red with black leather
-fuchs 16" wheels
-fresh o-ringed head (less than 1000 miles)
-wide fire headgasket (less than 1000 miles)
-new timing belt, balance shaft belt and rollers (less than 1000 miles)
-new front end seals (less than 1000 miles)
-KKK K27/8 turbo (less than 5000 miles)
-MAF with temp sensor
-vitesse chips and SMT6
-electronic boost control
-zeitronix wideband AF sensor with logging software
-SFR stainless steel headers (less than 1000 miles)
-bursch test pipe
-delphi 55lb injectors with ballast resistor pack (less than 1000 miles)
-cup clutch with (less than 10000 miles)
-koni yellow shocks all round, the rears are newest style available, the fronts are the older internally adjustable type
-reinforced steel control arms with brand new ball joints and new caster blocks(less than 200 miles)
-electrically adjustable and heated sports seats
-uncracked dash (-lloyds porsche script mats
-keyless entry system
-VDO boost gauge and lindsey racing AF/injector load gauge
-rears tires have about 1000 miles on them (245s), fronts about 7000
-AC works

problems:
-oil pressure sender is bad, i have a new one but have not had the time to install it yet. either i will install it before the car is sold or you'll get the new one in the box....
-odometer is incorrect, this is because the original 160 mph speedo was swapped out for a 180mph version. in order to get the correct mileage you must add 37239 to shown mileage. so for instance the odometer shows 86562 right now, making the current mileage 123801.
-passenger side outside door handle is a little hard to open, still works though.
-paint is not perfect, looks absolutely fine from a few feet away, but if you get very close you can see some imperfections.

i've put some pictures here (warning: not 56k friendly). included among the pictures is a dyno chart from a few weeks ago, at the time boost was cycling between 15 and 13 psi causing corresponding cycles on the graph. fast951 helped me fix that this weekend and the boost curve is smooth now, but i haven't had time to take it back to the dyno. i have been running the car at 15psi, but with the smt6 installed you can easily crank the boost and fuel up (smt6 controls both boost and fuel) and check AF mixtures on the wideband -- no need to go the dyno to tune. right now the smt6 is set to a flat boost curve, but it also supports rpm based boost control if you want to configure it that way.

i would like to get $10,000 for this car, if i can't get that i'll keep it and make it a garage queen. i'm sure some will point out that 951s can be had for 5-6k, nevertheless i believe this car is in considerably better condition than those, so please don't waste your time giving me a lowball offer.

Too bad I'm not in the market for another 951, I'll be all over this one...

I hate to say you won't get 10k for it, but from someone who has gone through many 951s in the last few years asking 10k for a 951 over 120 thats not perfect is a hard sell.

I wish you luck, to the right buyer it may be worth it. 951s are still common, and here on rennlist everyone is looking for a great deal. Autotrader would be a better bet for you.

Shaheed .. that's about $12,600 CDN. Most 1986 951's stock and in good shape go for around 15 to 17K Canadian. With the goodies installed, you may get close to $17,000 CDN for it .. around $13,500 USD.

Shaheed, I think 10 is reasonable. These cars are becoming scarious and especially one that is not beat. I paid a lot for my car but I think it was worth every pennie. It's been a great car and I know that I wouldn't part with mine for that much. Best of luck man. I hope you decide to keep it, its a wonderful machine.
