I still remember the northridge earthquake, THAT was, well, not that fun. my parents house took on about 100K in insurance repairs after. I would not enjoy a hurricane with a property in that area, but if I hoped on a plane and got a hotel room, i beleive I'd probably be very excited.

That way I'd actually be able to afford a place around here since home prices would drop like a ton-o-bricks. I'm hoping the big one hits about the same time as the impending housing crash - then I'll snap up about 3 properties, rent two and use 'em to pay for the third (that I'll live in) and ride out the next cycle when things get going again and actually be making some money for a change.
That's the diabolical master plan anyway. . .

He should be fine, since our state has been very fortunate in that we have had no reported fatalities. Let's just hope that his house and his Porsches fared as well... I would imagine the power is still out, though, as Gulf Shores, especially the barrier island, was hit pretty hard. Hope to hear from you soon, BoostGuy.

We were extremely lucky over here in Mobile. Been over the bay to help some friends and the damage is Much worse. Drove north up hwy. 59 right where the eye passed over...strong stuff. Likely to be a long time before we hear from B.G. Hope he's alright.
