Default How do I dailin my boostlevel with MBC

Hi All.

I installed an accuboost MBC. I set the boost level to 15 psi in a few runs in 2th gear. Last week I did some hard driving and noticed that in higher gears I made about 16 psi.

What is the correct way to do this? If I set the MBC in 3rd gear to 15 psi I hit about 14 psi in 2th?

What is the correct way to do this?

I set mine up at 15psi in 3rd gear as thats the gear I spend most time in. 4th gear will match it, but 1st and 2nd will not get near 15psi. You'll need a nice clever EBC to set different boost levels in different gears

I haven't found a long enough road to test 5th gear yet

I would set it to the boost level you want in 4th gear. IMO this is the gear that your likely to get the highest PSI in. I'm running a MBC mounted inside the car and I hit 18psi in all gears. The boost pressure does flucuate but no more then .5 psi and this is still pretty accurate especially for the simplicity of these controllers. BTW, I'm running a Garrett T3/T4 turbo so I'm not sure if you'll be able to run the same boost level with a stock turbo but a solid 14-15psi shouldn't be a problem.

Also, when in fourth gear and you know your turbo is spolled fully, you can give the car gas while applying the brakes a bit. It's kinda rough on the car, but this way you'll be able to control your speed a bit better (especially if you've got to watch a boost guage and the road at the same time).
