Well, it's 3:20pm in the afternoon here. Still at work, would be going home in 40mins or so.....(can't wait)....... i have 'bumpy' nights here, but on weekends (Thursdays and Fridays here) so i know how's it's like there....

The only difference is that i wake up to a weekend, no work/plans.....you got a meeting at 2 wich isn't too bad

The neck-snapping sensation you get has more to do with rate-of-change of torque than pure horsepower. When the torque curve ramps up steeply, you feel it most. This is during the boost rampup phase where you go from relatively low torque to high torque in a short period of time. That's what makes boost so addictive!

Cars where the torque curve is flat or where torque builds more gradually, like NA cars, may actually "feel" slower than our cars even though they are producing lots of hp and moving very quickly. Your body senses acceleration (torque) and rate-of-change of acceleration (torque curve steepness), not velocity.

I love that feeling you get in your neck when the car accelerates. Just incredible.

But the problem with me is I just get too bored too quick. I'm the type of person that needs to be scared ****less to have some fun. If the car doesn't scare me, than it's no fun.

go to a track. see what scared ****less feels like when you have too much power for you to handle.

of course, now the people in the cars around you are scared ****less too because you don't know what you're doing and you'll hurt someone.

learn to really drive what you have, then decide if you need more power or not. right now, i think a stock 951 is a lot to handle.

I had the same feeling with my 450HP Chevelle and now a little bit with the 951.
Until.......last weekend on one of our drives ( www.arizonarides.com if you are in AZ) the EVO guys and the STI guys were saying "holey S*!!! your car is fast!!! you pull on us in the courner, out of the courner, in the straights and brake later than us!!!!"

And to think they spent $30k on their cars. so now it may just feel that fast.

I bet even when I get my 650rwhp supra after a while it won't feel that fast either. Your mind and body just get used to it.
After driving a 1300HP Supra for a time I can safely say that I never felt the car was slow. It might now have felt AS fast but it was still blindingly fast.

AZMI - you got that right. Another lister was telling me he rode in a 285HP WRX and when he got out it was like, yeah, so thats it. Not impressive.

Could it just be that the boost is coming on more smoothly and gradually with your new turbo?

Tommo - it was a monster. It ate triple plate clutches in a few passes. You could drive it on the street but you had to be very careful about the throttle. As to the powerband it was all over. That car shamefully met its end at a IHRA event by bouncing off both walls. The guy who owned it sold the motor and trans and built something else.

well 1300 freggin hp will prolly always feel fast man. I was talking about something a little more daily driveable like 650rwhp which I think will be my goal for the supra.

Your talking about a car with double the amount of hp I was talking about. I bet it was one fun ride.

I am like Todd if I ain't scared a little it's just not very fun. Like mine now just feel's sluggish. Yet I can make my passenger's grab the handle like they are grabing for a life presever when their plane is going down.

I have people tell me all the time it's the fastest thing they have ever been in .....but, you just get used to it. I am sure I will get used to a 650rwhp supra as well.....eventually thing's just get slower.....

damn the HP curse I tell ya.

one of the reasons I dont like drag racing. you get used to the power and the only way to fix that is to throw exponentaly more $$ at it. At least with our cars we can scare people in the turns.

Well, 1300hp is pretty much of a killer unless you own a drag car that runs on nitro methane, then you would find that Supra is a slow pig
