Question DME & KLR faults

When DME and KLR units go "bad," what are the common failure points?

What are the economics of repair versus replacement?

What are good sources of DME/KLR diagnostic information and details?

My '86 951 won't start due to no spark, but has fuel flow. During cranking and accessory position 2 for the key, it shows boost gauge needle movement, oil pressure, temp., etc. but no tachometer movement. So, no spark and no tachometer activity. DME relay checks good. How to diagnose?

The easiest way is to swap in a spare DME and see if it works.... Any spares laying aroung Anacortes?

You may want to check for power on the coil, and check the coil too for that matter.
