But I think the real gains from them comes in conjunction with another intake and cam allowing better top end breathing.

Kokeln makes a kit with one of their turbos (Club turbo, I think) that when used with their intake, injectors, etc makes about 340rwhp. If you look at the Lindsey Racing website, they list it as the 363* kit. The problem with that is, the 363 hp was reached with a cam that is not included in the kit and costs extra. So if you but the kit, you're getting closer to 340hp (which has been contested as well).

Basically, I think they should be making about 30 more HP than they are with this project car....

Is 340whp possible without a MAF/MAP according to many tuners?

I REALLY think so. Some say they hit about 350rwhp without a map/maf. I personally think that the flap door is a large part of the air slowing down plus it might not be able to tune as well as something that measures the temp/pressure/flow like a maf/map kit. But I do know of people hitting 350 at the wheels without one.

The Bosch AFM unit DOES have a temp sensor in it but measures flow/pressure using the air pushing the 'door'.........

To achieve this 350whp, what is the best way to get it?

Turbo (K27/6? at 18psi?)
Wastegate (Tial/LR)
Full exhaust system (3" testpipe to 3"Cat back)
Injectors (55lbs/hr)

Looking mainly at bolt on (this post has been coming up a number of times this week, so keeping it simple would be great )

Well, yea, but would be MUCH easier with a MAF/MAP. But the above bolt ons seem to be a proven way to solid hp and with those mods and boost, shoud be right about 350 at the wheels without MAF/MAP and close to 400 with MAF/MAP.

400 seems a little optimistic for the above mods...I imagine 55lb injectors would run out of steam for one, not to mention the turbo not being ideal for hitting 400 imo

400whp would be really too much for the street here.

340~350whp is more acceptable.

I do not want a MAF, since the engine would blow and there is not a/f ratios here on the dyno's.

Not to mention, a SINGLE dyno run costs $150 for Flywheel HP, another shop charges $203, same thing.

So, custom chips and what i mentioned above is the only way for me.........

I thought they were running pretty low boost still in the article.

17psi.

I think you can get 350 without resorting to a full 3" exhaust, though that would help. Some have achieved that with just a test pipe.

I am running 18# boost on a K27/6 and not getting over 310 rwhp in the TX heat. However, I can pass stock Z06's which put down 340-350 rwhp. There is about 300-400lb weight advantage with the 951.

55lb injector's are fine for 400rwhp. In my opinion from talking with dave he says that lot's of people have to run much higher injector's due to poor tunning. I called and was asking him about my new turbo and weither or not i should upgrade to 75lb from 55lb. He said it wasent nessesary since my power goal was 400rwhp. He says take the number of the injector and double it...so 55 becomes 110...that means that injector is good for 110rwhp.....so times 4 is 440rwhp. Dave said you can get even more out of them if you increase and play around with the fuel pressure.

It also helps his argument that he personally tuned my car and it run's like a scalled ape. My friend Amr with the supra swapped i300.....you guy's remember him right???

Well he is 713hp...and guess what size injector's he uses....75lb. That's right 75lb injector's and his car run's in the 10's because that's what supra engines like.

So when someone tell's me they need 75-85lb injector's for 450rwhp I think back to what he said. Ofcourse this will all be tested with the new turbo....I will get it on the dyno and find out what my duty cycle is with the 55lb injector's at 18 and 20psi.

That is strange, there were several threads regarding a K27/6 with that boost level hitting the 330~340whp mark............
