Question ? Need Advice about wheel studs

My nephew has an S2000 and he just put new wheels on
Volks and now he is looking to upgrade his brakes but there seems to be a problem with the length of the wheel studs ? Here is his question :
Would you mind asking around about the studs? I think I may need them, or something. I'm running a 3mm spacer and I can only get 4 turns of the lug nut on the stud. Stock would be 8 turns. The hubcentric rings are also not mating with the hubs, so it looks like hubcentric spacers are in order.

Does he need new studs and if so how does one do that ?
Thanks in advance
regards
Ed

Sounds like his offset might be different than stock. Wheel flange thickness at mounting depth is pretty universal with JDM stuff. Do they sit flush without the hubcentric rings? If he drops the spacer do the calipers still clear? Just brainstorming here and it's a weak weather system tonight.

He'll need to press out the old studs and install 3-4mm longer ones then if the flange thickness is the same. Any brake shop can do this if he takes the rotor hats in. He can do it at home with a bearing press; it's tough to get them seated square with a vise.
