[QUOTE=hosrom_951]On the track your oil consumption does tend to get higher.

AFter 1+hours of driving, i lost 0.5L of oil.
QUOTE]

Can this be expected on a brand new motor (after break in, of course)? If you have 100K+ miles I understand that your turbo seals and rings may allow some oil to seep through. Oil doesn't evaporate (Does it?). Where does it go?

"Do one and look at the crud that comes out. One needs to flush the oil at least once a year to keep the motor in good shape. We flush our rads and brakes but not the oil system. This is one of the keys to prolong the engine life ... consider it as plaque in your bloodstream."

YEP. Learned this from my dad who has had several 200K mile, hard driven cars. He religously does a mtor flush (the motor flush in the silver cans) and changes filter and oil every 3K and never a single engine problem. I do the same, jsut not always at 3K miles, but I always do an engine flush. Takes like 5 extra minutes and costs about 5 extra bucks. You do the math

alexands: Not really, new engines (after the break in) have new seals and hold oil tighter.

There is a breather system, that evaporated oil gets blown into the IC pipe, throttle body, intakes.....

At least that is what i understood about breather systems, i could be wronge there.

I always used Amsoil or what my shop has in stock. Follow the instruction printed on the can.
