Default this car will be the death of me

Well the porsche dealer finally got the car running today...but was told last night on initial startup ran poor(after rebuild and mods) Today I call for more info and told that a water flange had let loose upon waiting for engine to get to operating temp. Great more time and now I'm curious everything was brand new......why would it blow I hope there is nothing causing back pressure in coolant system. Ok deep down I bet there is. Could be a big pain in the *** due to engine builder 200miles away and not to forget the 80 dollars an hour shop wage. Well just had to vent...and discuss the fears I have of further bad news comming on Friday when it blows again. Does anyone else somtimes wish they just left the car stock.....ok more power is nice but so is a lower stress level.

After my self-rebuild, my engine ran like crap for the first 10 mins, then the water gasket at the back of the engine let go. Sound familiar? After I pulled the intake and fixed the leak (tightened screws), got it started again, still ran like crap until warmed up for 15 mins and then driven for 15. Ran fine after that. I think it's only engines built on TV shows that start and run perfect immediately the first time.

just curious, why are you having the dealer do this work? aren't there any porsche specialist shops around where you're at?

I had the same mechanic build my engine as did rage 2. As for the porsche dealer only folks I trust up in edmonton. The shop rate is only 5 dollars more and they have always treated me very very well. I spoke with the mechanic at porsche the engine was starting to run better before the part gave way. Its actually a small plastic feed from the rad that broke. 3 dollar part but slows everything down to get shipped. So I hope on restart tommorow it all goes fine. He feels pretty sure as he said the engines never run well at first start.
