Default Brake Time...

Time to tackle something I've never done before and thought I might find some useful advice from those that have... new rotors and pads on my 89 turbo.

I am pretty certain that I am going to purchase the following:

Pads: Hawk HPS
Rotors: Zimmerman Solid
Fluid: ATE Super Blue

I am also considering:

33/5 Proportioning Valve
968 Cooling Ducts
Replacement Brake Lines (Stainless?)

I guess I will also need:

anti-squeal shims
grease

I guess the questions I'm hoping someone can help with are:
  1. Do I have everything covered?
  2. Are there any "wish I would have known" tidbits or "watch out for" snafus I should know to avoid problems with the install?
  3. What are the best online retailers from whom to buy each of these items?
  4. I have no idea where to find the following... anti-sqeal shims, proportioning valve, and 968 cooling ducts... any ideas?
  5. Is this the right part number for the proportioning valve? ... 928.355.305.02

Many Thanks

you may need later style A-arms for the 968 ducts, since later ones have a tab that they connect to.

Thanks, I didn't know about the tab that you had to have... Do you think they are even necessary?

It's on the brake booster under the hood, driver's side, near the windshield.
