Default Is this too ricey (for wheels) and X-Pipe question

First wheels:

I am restoring the wheels, though of this as original design:

(Pic from Wheel Enhancements)

Is the outer wheel lip polished or painted white?

Is this ricey:

(Pic From Wheel enhancement)

This is atractive, but i dont want the ricey look on the car.

Second, the X-over pipe. Since the difference was the one piece that could be removed (between the exhaust and wastegate) can't you locallt customise it? as in cut off the piece and 'creat' a similar pipe to the WG like the factory did? along with all neccessary bolts/clamps?

I think the polished wheel looks great! The only PITA I see is trying to keep them looking that way, painted wheels would be a lot easier to maintain.

It doesn't look like the lip in the first pic is polished though. My dad had a set of stock fuchs on his Carrera and the lip was just bare aluminum, maybe brushed? But definitely not polished, just compare the lip in both photos.

UNFORTUNATELY, i showed the pic (of the polished wheel) to my guy here locally. He could 'clean' the lips, but would NOT have a chrome/mirror polish like that

BUT, i saw a FRESHLY painted '89 BEAUIFUL red speedster, with RED Fuchs....they look.................FAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here if another pic of what they look like (similar):

Cyrus: Here is an update for you, Dubai is LOADED with cutting edge technology. I drive an '86 951, which is one of the only 10 cars that are older than a '95 here.

Porsches, BMWs, Mercs, Maybachs, Rolls, Bentley's, Astons, Ferraris, Lotus, Jags....you name it.

If it is not a '99+, its not a car (that is the way they think).

NO ONE, here works on their own car like you guys. Just take it to the dealership, and have it repaired there, so i do not know where you got the idea of a '79 Peugeot witha Merc badge on it (some one was pulling your leg).

By the way, did i mention we have the world's first 7 star hotel that was nominated the world's most luxurious hotel in 2002 and 2003? along with the world's bext airlines for 99 and 2000?

Hmmm.......just imagining that '79 peugeot again........nah......been here for 20 years, never saw ONE........

Anyway, seem's that Skylines, Supras, Subarus, Evo etc are the way to go here. This is a 'bigger is better' market (some idiot got a 1,000hp Turbotonics wastegate and fitted it into his 200hp set up, claims that wastegate was worth every penny what a laugh).

We do not have much services here like ceramic/jet coating, tripple chrome plating/polishing what-so-ever. IF there is a car with 26" chrome fat a$$ wheels here, it was imported and costed $15K+........

Now i hope you all know what kind of city this is.......but then again, when people see my car and say "Oooh what car is that" I go 'Porsche' They say "Really, i though it was a '95 Toyota or Nissan'. ONly the porsche specialist and the dealer know what i am driving, and they are trying their best to meed my demands (especially the specialist, he used to own a 951 in germany, yes he is german and knows this car's potential).

My appologies. I know a pakistani fob that just moved back to dubai, and I thought he was pretty ghetto.
I do know for a fact people in Iran do stuff like that. Along with Nike signs on the back of there cars (with the check on backwards), mercedes logos glued onto their wheels (paykans), stickers that say say "super" but are spelled "SOOPARE," its fun to laugh at them though.

Ok, if they don't stand out enough for you, how about a bronze centered wheel w/ a polished or silver lip......

If I can come up with a set of Fuchs for my 951 thats what I plan on doing with them, I think it will go well with my graphite grey car....
