The capacitors in the 90-94 DSMs tend to leak all over the board in the ecu and eventually burning holes in the board... The kit they sell replaces the common capacitors that leak... If you pull apart an ECU and sniff the board it will smell like dead fish, or as some say... Dirty P****... Or you can see a film actually accross the board, kind of a light yellowish film.. I havn't heard this being a problem in a porsche...

^ I'm jealous.

I remember the first week I did all my upgrades,
I was literally scared when the turbo kicked in.

I will really need this stuff for my K-Jectronic system.
I have no idea what AFR I have at full boost.

Can I use the Zeitronix instead of taking the car to the Dyno? It's so hard to find the time to get my car on the Dyno. I'm sick of calling all round Norway trying to find a shop that has the time when I have the time. I need to get an a/f plot for a possible chip-reburn.

Yes, with a laptop it will log rpm, throttle, and air/fuel. then you can drop it into excel and make a graph of rpm vs. air/fuel just like what a dyno would show you.

Will this unit tie into a laptop or do you need some other form of interface?

you can run the display and log to the laptop at the same time, it uses a serial port to the laptop. Software is super easy to use...

Thanks Sam (I miss your old avatar).
How does the unit register rpm and throttle?
I'm close to ordering.
Also, where do I put the bung for the sensor? (I know this probably has been asked umpteen times before).
