Thanks. It is a braided stainless section that goes all the way into the cab. Really a nice gauge. The only possible downside is that it reads in C instead of F.

If you are going to weld, any plumbing store will have a stainless steel 1/8" NPT coupling. Just cut it in half. Mine cost less than $3.
