Default Tips since the dash is out

The dash is out, but here is where i need help:

1) The igition switch (where the key goes in) doesnt fit the dash trip piece (the switch should be in the centre of the hold, then comes that rubber piece to cover the space). It isn't aligned properly, how to remove the switch?

2) Where is the expansion valve? is it hidden somewhere?

I can't help you with #1. However, in #2 are talking about the A/C expansion valve? If so, I believe its under the blower motor which is accessible from the engine compartment between the firewall and the windshield. There was a thread a couple of weeks ago on A/C install which had great pictures of the expansion valve location under the blower motor. Try a search.
