CBV question
I have the stock CBV. With the valve installed in the car I cannot blow through the top port (that connects to the fuel dampner), but I can suck through it.
Does this indicate a funtioning or a defective CBV?

I think your cbv is defective, I test mine the same way about once a month. With mine you cannot blow and when you suck it will hold vaccum on your tongue indefinitely. Your's fails the suck test so I would replace it.

Yah, it's bad. Blowing doesn't work because the plunger is plugging up the inlet and outlet ports. So a hole in the diaphragm can't be detected. But sucking will bring pull up the plunger and expose the ports. Then the leak in the diaphragm will be apparent.
For some strange reason, I keep on blowing up the stock 951 as well as the 993TT version every 2-3 years. I've had it with this last failure and I'm gonna pick up a Forge valve from Stratmosphere... primarily because the black anodized one look darn close to stock.
