Default Need help Hesitation in 3rd gear

Hi
I need someones help. I have a 86 944 turbo. In my car I have test pipe, Lindsey boost enhancer, fuel regulator, HKS blow off valve, and chips(europroducts). While in 3rd gear at about 3 or 4000 rpms it just stops and does not feel like their is much power at all. I don't know what the problem is. I think it might be the chips but I have had them for a while. Anyone with any ideas please let me know. Thanks
Marc

The newest thing was the test pipe which was a while ago. I don't know about the motor mounts but could that be the problem?

Maybe one is cracked and starting to go. How is the car on idle? does it vibrate a little more than normal? Make sure that the engine mounts are the new updated ones (usually have an orange color on their base).

If the mounts seem fine, i would say look at the transmission mount as well.

Oh crap, what am i saying.

I am sorry, but i was reading the post (hesitation) not the power dissappearing part.

Do you have an adjustable FPR or a standard one? how much boost are you running?

What chips are you running?
Did this start shortly after the test pipe install?
Opening up your exhayst creates more flow, and with more flow you need more fuel.
If your chips were borderline in the safe zone before, then with the test pipe you are proablly running lean. Lazy response is one of the symptons of running lean.

Did the chips come with the 3bar FPR?

I am with Jason on this, the chips MAY have something to do with it.

Just go over the vacuum lines and boots (IC and J) make sure they are all fine.

Then start looking at the specifications of the chip.

Tell us more about the problem. Does it only happen when you give it a lot of gas, or does it happen under light load too? What happens above 4k rpms? Did it ever run well with your current mods, or did this just start happening? If it just started, when did you last change the ignition parts -- plugs, wires, cap, rotor?

The stock FPR is 2.5-bar and I think the EuroProducts chips are mapped for that. If you have a 3-bar FPR, you'll be too rich, which may be worsened in the mid-range because that's when boost is highest and causes the fuel-pressure to increase the most as well.

Does the car have the same stumbling and hesitation problem in 1st gear?

What boost are you hitting when the stumbling/hesitation starts? Can you rev it smoothly past 4000rpm if you have only 50% throttle and no boost?

The problem happens while the car is punched to the floor after the hesitation the car does not seem like it has that much power.

Fuel starvation? When was the fuel filter last changed? You can also do a flow test on the fuel pump (850 cc in 30 seconds.)

i had a huge crack in the rubber hose that goes from the intercooler pipe to the turbo. When on the interstate, i could not get the car above 80 at first, then it started stalling whenever i pushed the clutch in....took me forever to find that big *** vacuum leak.
