Default 19mm Rear Sway - Sorry

There is extensive discussion on this list (thank you "Search") on the merits of the M030 sway bar upgrade, but I can't find the answer to this specific uestion:

If I upgrade my 951 rear sway from the current 18mm to the M030 19mm, will I notice much difference? I'm trying to decide if I should do the upgrade. The upgrade of my front bar from 25.5mm to the M030 30mm one is maybe a future upgrade to consider too.

Has anyone made just the upgrade from a 18mm to 19mm rear ?

Details of current setup:

Koni Sports
220lb Weltmeister front springs (stock height)
Stock torsion bars
25.5mm front sway bar
18mm rear sway bar
205/50/17 fronts, 255/40/17 rears

Yes do both.. very good upgrade for the street. You won't notice a difference in ride, but the reduces body roll in turns is so much better.

The rear 19mm is three way adjustable.. so yes you'll notice a difference. The front is a must as well.

Hello

The 19 mm bar is 3 way adjustable...
Otherwise you could try to find the 21 mm Cup Car bar also adjustable but much more difficult to find.
Other advantage of the 19 mm is the available Polyurethane bushing from Racer edge.

Thanks guys for the advice. The M030 sways (front and rear) and 968 caster blocks are on my shopping list. Time to save my pennies.

Brad,
I have a pair of near-new 968 caster blocks. They were replaced with monoball blocks early this year. Let me know if you are interested.

I am VERY interested in the M030 upgrade. If anyone in the area has this on the there car I would LOVE to get a ride in the car to feel the difference.

Unless you are trying to use only Porsche parts, the Weltmeister 22mm rear sway bar is supposed to be excellent!

I have tried the M030 968 bars and the welts and both are very good set ups in my mind, but it depends on what you are looking for.

The welts use a much better mouting system for the front sway bar than did the factory. The factory dangles the sway bar on a long fleixble metal mount, where as the welts use a more solid mount reusing other factory holes. So I feel the weltmiesters can take away more body roll than could the factory bars.

That said, the factory bars offer a simplicity. The non-adjustable front, and 3 way adjustbale rear make it easy to dial in the set up with only 3 possible settings. The Welts are very adjustable, and it took some time to get the balance where I wanted it.....

More info on the Front Welts...

Fronts: Solid bar much heavier than M030. They also use aluminum bushing for the A Arm attachment.. more noise. They do attach to the chassis better, but ddjusting is a pain in my opinion.
