I use either end-nippers or Channel Locks - make sure to spray the sides with penetrating oil and tap on the top with a hammer first to loosen it.

I had a hell of a time getting mine out. None of the usual tricks would work. Eventually my uncle lent me some giant industrial bolt-cutter syle end nippers (not sure if there's a technical term for these). Had to c-clamp the handle really tight (to keep them from slipping off) and then just rock it back and forth until it came out. Some PO must've hammered it in there good, cause it sure was chewed up by the time I got it out. On the upside, a new key is about the cheapest Porsche part I've ever bought...less than a dollar, I think. Good luck.

1. Penetrating oil (Kroil)
2. Grab with vice grip and wiggle (Mostly on long axis a little on the short one.)

Tapping with a hammer can help but don't hit it hard enough to deform the key.

Be careful about expanding the slot when you wiggle. It'll lead to headaches later.

What I do is just tap it from the front with a screwdriver & hammer. The wedge shape basically pries it up for you.
