I live in an 120+ climate and run Mobile 1. I used to run 15W~50, untill there was no more. Now i run 0W~40. Thinner but you can push it harder, the car runs GREAT, starts up in a crank or two. Just before i turn it off (even when i do not use the turbo) i leave it for a min or so just to cool it down more.
Yes Porsche ALWAYS recommends Mobile 1 on ALL models in ALL years (check their site for more reference on this).
Mobile 1 is synthetic, so expect lower oil pressures when idling ( you should see 911's idle at 1.5~2 bar oil pressure on NORMAL driving).
If you already running a synthetic oil, and wish to change to another brand of synthetic (mobile 1) its ok.
BUT, if you are running crappy oil (sorry guys ) and switch to synthetic, and have over 50,000miles on the crappy oil DO NOT switch to synthetic, it would cause you engine to blow itself appart (ask me how i know )

Hey Guys,
While we're at it, has anyone been running 5W50 or 60 oil ?
I've never used anything less then 15W & was wondering
whether lower viscousity oil will suit our engines especially
under higher boost.
